Such a tiny bike! It's very interesting to see that the only bits of color are on her skin...very amusing and interesting, lots of hidden little details. If I were one of the tiny people, I would watch out...
Wow, you don't see drawings like these too often! What I liked at first is how her bike is purposefully very small, and the happiness of the small people below her, like she's the queen! (am I at all close to your intentions? XD)
Haha. No not really, its was supposed to be another version of a tale called Gulliver's travels except with a woman. I'm sure you've heard of it. A man wanders into a place with tiny inhabitants and they tie him down.
But its great that you have your own interpretation.
I totally agree with :devmuzikmann: about the concept being both unfunny but funny at the same time. I really like this one, actually! It's very interesting. You don't normally see this type of art too often!
I like your sketch style. How much detail needs to go into an artwork pretty much depends on what you're trying to show, doesn't it? I think Mrs. Gulliver looks fine the way she is, although the Lilliputians do look a little afterthought-ish.
A very interesting drawing, indeed. I like the concept of the piece a lot...it's funny while at the same time, it's not.
I understand the style you used, but personally...I would like to see a piece like this with more detail. Not much...but more defined lines perhaps. Some parts of the drawing look like they were just quick fill-ins.
But hey, it's still good stuff. I hope you enjoy your stay at dA. And remember...the more interaction you give...the more you get!
You bring up a good point. Before I thought it was defined enough as it was, but that was before seeing some of the things on deviantART. This website is going to shame me into being a better artist, damn. lol.
I've learned after many years on this site...that if I even think about comparing myself to many of the artists on here...I may as well just leave. Almost daily am I left breath taken by works on this site.
The critiques are definitely meant to help you grow as an artist...but definitely don't change your art because of what someone says. It's your...hopefully you're making it for yourself. Or at least that's what people keep saying around here....
Well its inevitable that I'll change my art, but it'll only be for the better. I don't want to be comfortable staying at a certain level because I don't know what else is out there. Seriously, I've been getting lazy with my art lately.
Thanks for all the support!
